EVENT SUMMARY
- The Great World Race ™ offers competitors the opportunity to run 7 official marathons on 7 continents over a 7-day period.
- Capacity is limited to 60 participants.
- The event is scheduled to begin in Cape Town, South Africa November 12th 2025.
- Competitors will assemble in Cape Town and are flown to Antarctica by private jet to begin The Great World Race.
- The 7 marathons across 7 continents occur in the following sequence: Wolf’s Fang (Antarctica), Cape Town (Africa), Perth (Australia), Abu Dhabi (Asia), the Algarve (Europe), Cartagena (South America) and Miami (North America).
- After the round-trip flights to Antarctica for the first marathon, participants are flown by business charter to the other destinations.
- Competitors with the fastest average marathon time over the 7 races are declared the winners, with both male and female categories.
- All marathons are will be measured by AIMS / World Athletic Measurers and sanctioned by respective national athletics federations.
- All finishers of The Great World Race will become members of the Global Marathon Club ™.
- There is an option to run a half marathon for those who prefer the short distance.
